Anna Kott is a visual artist. She works with painting, drawing, installation and performance. Her works are often created site-specifically and in dialogue with space, body and nature. Central themes are transformation, body perception and cyclical processes. Her works are based on movement, material experience and the integration of natural rhythms.
In her early work, she focussed on the ‘inner human being’. Her early works were characterised by explorations of femininity, sexuality, opposites and identity. She placed traditional pictorial symbolism in a new context and used it to develop her own contemporary visual language. Her oil paintings on canvas are characterised by varying techniques, the experimental use of colour and exciting compositions.
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Anna exhibited her work internationally, including in Germany, Spain, Poland, Austria and England. She lives and works in Berlin. In addition to her artistic practice, she develops workshops that combine art, body awareness and creative processes.
