
Willi Tomes, born 1979, works in the field of sculpture, collage, assemblage, drawing, installation and performance.
He graduated as Master of fine arts at Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin in 2006 and is artist in residence at Klunkerkranich (Berlin) since 2013. Since 2006 he participated in various group and solo exhibitions in Germany and Europe.
His works focus on the reuse and upgrade of materials like wood, vinyl, sandpaper or leather and experimental ways of creating art and sensations including his workshops to build your own flogger at iksk (Berlin).
Willi Tomes lives and works as artist and DJ (Ilo Pan) in Berlin.

DRAWING RESTRAINED – how to make art with controlled limitations and using the body as a drawing tool

The workshop will focus on the the creative moment of drawing and the will of the artist to create artwork while facing changing struggles against unpredictable forces.
By using rope, bamboo and various restraining techniques we will explore a challenging creative workflow that creates a picture that include the marks of the struggles and predicaments.
