Valentin Rion is a performer and cultural activist. As part of the collective Objects of Desire co-creates a platform for sexworkers to share their stories through objects, curates exhibitions and creates workshops around professional intimacy.
His sociocultural, interdisciplinary and intercultural projects involving youth and older people on the other side interweave artistic, social and scientific practices. He works for the Other Music Academy in Weimar, East Germany, co-shaping the vision of a new form of social institution, an Empowerment Center. As performer and dancer he works internationally in interdisciplinary setting for stage and film, and teaches workshops on intimacy, improvisation and intersectional cultural histories. Since 2016 he is involved in researching and developing an improvisation methodbased in cognitive studies and compositional knowledge, transposing it to movement-based improvisation in sex and sensuality.
